Great Valley Chapter, NSDAR

WELCOME

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization founded in 1890 by a small group of patriotic women. The DAR is dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

Patriotism

The Great Valley Chapter, NSDAR, engages in patriotism by replacing veteran flags in a local cemetery and supporting veterans through projects designed by the Veterans Administration (VA) Coatesville Medical Center.

Historic Preservation

The Great Valley Chapter, NSDAR, continues to support historic preservation through volunteering to clean headstones at the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

Education

In the area of education, the chapter annually offers the DAR Good Citizen Award and Scholarship Contest to area high school seniors, and sponsors the American History Essay Contest with local students in fifth through eighth grade.

About Us

The Great Valley Chapter, NSDAR, meets monthly in the Paoli area, alternating between Wednesdays and Saturdays. Each meeting consists of a program that reflects one of the chapter's service areas, a time for networking and refreshment, and a business meeting. Annual luncheons are given in April and December to raise funds for special projects for local organizations that reflect the NSDAR service areas of historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
